Privacy Policy
Effective July 28, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what personal information is collected on samuellitman.art (the “Site”), how it is used, who it is shared with, and the choices and rights you have. The Site is operated by Samuel Litman (“we,” “us”). The short version: only the information needed to fulfill orders and respond to inquiries is collected, and it is never sold.
1. Information we collect
Order information. When you place an order: your name, email address, shipping address, phone number (if provided), and order details.
Inquiry information. When you send a commission inquiry or email us: your name, email address, and the contents of your message.
Technical information. Like most websites, the Site’s hosting provider automatically logs basic technical data (IP address, browser type, pages visited) for security and site operation.
No account is required to purchase, and no other personal information is requested. We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information.
2. Payment information
Card and other checkout payments are processed by Stripe through WooCommerce; Cash App payments are processed by Square. Your payment details (card numbers, Cash App credentials) go directly to those processors and are never received or stored by this Site. Their handling of your data is governed by their own privacy policies: Stripe (stripe.com/privacy) and Square (squareup.com/legal/privacy).
3. How your information is used
Your information is used only to: process, fulfill, and ship orders; send order confirmations, shipping invoices for originals, and tracking numbers; respond to inquiries and commission requests; handle damage, loss, and delivery issues; maintain records required for tax and accounting purposes; and protect against fraud. We do not send marketing or newsletter emails. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information for advertising, and we do not use it for automated profiling.
4. Who your information is shared with
Only the service providers needed to run the shop: shipping carriers delivering your order (USPS, UPS); payment processors (Stripe, Square); and WordPress.com / WooCommerce, which host the Site and store order records. Each provider receives only what it needs to perform its service. Information may also be disclosed where required by law, regulation, or valid legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of the Site or others. If the business is ever sold or transferred, order records may transfer with it under the same protections.
5. Cookies
The Site uses only the cookies necessary for the shopping cart and checkout to function, plus any strictly necessary cookies set by the hosting platform for security. No advertising or third-party tracking cookies are used. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though the cart and checkout may not work without them.
6. Data retention
Order records are retained as long as required for tax, accounting, and legal purposes. Commission inquiries and correspondence are retained only as long as needed to complete the work and resolve any related issues, after which they may be deleted.
7. Data security
The Site is served over HTTPS, and order data is stored on WordPress.com’s secured infrastructure. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but reasonable measures are taken to protect your information, and access is limited to the site owner.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live (including under the California Consumer Privacy Act and similar state laws, and the GDPR for visitors in the EU/UK), you may have the right to: request a copy of the personal information held about you; ask for it to be corrected; ask for it to be deleted (except records we must keep for tax or legal purposes); and object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@samuellitmanart.com; requests are honored regardless of where you live and will be handled promptly, normally within 30 days. You will never be discriminated against for exercising a privacy right. We do not sell personal information, so no “Do Not Sell or Share” opt-out is needed.
9. Children’s privacy
The Site is not directed at anyone under 18, and no personal information is knowingly collected from them. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and it will be deleted.
10. Third-party links
The Site may link to third-party sites (for example, payment processors or social media). This policy does not cover those sites; review their privacy policies separately.
11. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Material changes affecting existing order data will be communicated by email where possible.
12. Contact
Questions or privacy requests: hello@samuellitmanart.com.
